Color use is very important when it comes to designing anything from package designs to layout and logo designs. Here are a few things that you should keep in mind when selecting a color scheme for your design project:

- Does your colorscheme consist of 1 color and simply different shades of that color? If yes, you should try to incorporate another color into that colorscheme to avoid your layout from looking too monochromatic
- Do your colors clash? There are a lot of colors that do not work well together. This can come from the eye but if you cannot notice it you might want to look around for some inspirations of good colorschemes on the internet through website galleries.

A good colorscheme could really boost up the appeal of your design so it is well worth spending the time perfecting the colorscheme prior to designing anything.

If you are going to use stock photos in your designs you need to check the license of the photo/image that you are using!! There are some images that are under Creative Commons, but there are different types of CC licenses that will allow you to remix the piece, adapt the work into yours, use it for profit, etc.

If you are going to use it for personal uses only, then that is not a problem. When you are going to use any image or photo for commercial purposes or for public release, then you do need to look at the licenses carefully to avoid any potential legal problems.

There are a lot of entrepreneurs and webmasters who are cheaping out on graphics designs by outsourcing them. This is one big mistake because most of the graphics designs that are outsourced look horrible. It is one thing to outsource coding (which I will not state my opinion about what I think about this) but with graphics design, it’s simply hard to get an amazing design for such little money.

Why do people think graphics designers charge too much? They use their creativity, skill and talents to produce a quality piece for you. You might think that the hours spent on a design might not take long at all (hence the outsourcing, getting a quick design done) but the whole creative process cannot always speed up. Investing well in nice graphics design is worth while as it will make your site or business much more appealing to your customers.
